All Joe wanted was a simple life, okay?

Article image

But SOMEONE is rudely making that impossible.

Joe has decided to handle his stalker like an adult: by ghosting him.

In class, his students are reading Poes The Man of the Crowd.

THIS IS A MURDER.

Frankly, I am surprised everyone assumes the note is true.

For all anybody else knows, Malcolm is still alive out there!

Are anonymous note-writers and pinky-senders typically reliable sources of information?

The media name for the person they believe is responsible for both: the Eat-the-Rich Killer.

Joe gets a text from his stalker: Now do I have your attention?

Ghosting isnt working, so Joe engages.

The stalker wants Joe to admit that he is Joe and explain why he did what he did.

Joe pulls a classicifI did itand says itwouldhypothetically be because he had no other options.

Meanwhile, the police have made their way to Kates place.

Girl, GET CURTAINS.

The stalker texts Joe: Kates a threat.

Joe thinks the real game is that the stalker wants Kate dead.

Not for the first time I wonder why Joe has a checkers-not-chess mentality.

Killing Kate would be a very in-character thing for him to do.

Joe later finds Nadia fishing around the flowers outside Malcolms apartment, looking for the hide-a-key.

Joe promises to handle it for her.

At Simons funeral, Joe is on the lookout for someone whose grief doesnt seem genuine.

Kate is appalled that Joe is here, and he insists Phoebe invited him.

Is Rhys perhaps talking about … Whats behindhismask, I wonder!

The reception (after-party?)

is at Sundry House.

Meanwhile, the stalker wants to know why Joe hasnt gotten around to killing Kate.

Unfortunately for Joe, Kate hates his guts and doesnt want him around.

Over the course of a weird, drunk afternoon, he wears her down.

Joe says he would cathartically burn things.

(I cant believe she had to do all of this in those heels.)

Joe rationalizes that its actually a great strategy to have sex with Kate because it will distract her.

Vic watches the whole thing from the bushes, as one does.

Joe wakes up in Kate and Malcolms place.

I think its very funny that he fell asleep on the couch and she fell asleep in her bed.

I would rather be cut up into a thousand tiny pieces than spend another second alone with you.

Just wait til you get to know him better, girlie … the two are not mutually exclusive!

As he tries to follow her out, who appears but Vic with a gun!

Vic pulls Malcolms ring out of Joes pocket.

And guess what, psycho stalker?

Joes dick has never, EVER been softer.

In his exhaustion, he has an epiphany: Maybe his stalker is just alonely boy.

You want a friend, he decides.

You want us to be the same.

Kate makes meaningful eye contact with Joe through the window as she burns Malcolms portrait.

Then Joe gets an invite from Phoebe to meet her at Sundry House.

On his way, Joe gives Nadia the letter along with Joan DidionsThe Year of Magical Thinking.

Joe is ecstatic to get a text from his stalker asking for an in-person meeting.

Joes condition is that Kate is left alone, but the stalker makes no promises.

When Joe arrives at Sundry House, the gang awaits him with accusatory stares.

Also in residence: the police.

Hey, its not too late to call a lawyer!
