The camera loves Show Kasamatsu.

The arc broadly mirrored the sense of responsibility Kasamatsu had while taking Sato to the top.

The audience really loves him, the actor says through Eriko Yamaguchi, his translator on set.

I didnt want to disappoint anybody the audience and also the people who created this story.

You smoke a lot on the show and look so stylish doing it.

And Im not trying to be cool, of course.

When I smoke onscreen or in my personal life, I face the other person with my cigarette.

I want to be a gentleman when I smoke.

But I want to show the character enjoying the cigarette, and maybe thats why people think its cool.

Sato carries a lot of responsibility in the finale.

Should I use a big voice, really convincingly?

Or do I have to be really polite when I ask them to do this together?

Was the peace sign written, or did you improvise that? That moment was challenging.

Thats a big thing Sato accomplishes, that Tozawa committed suicide, but Sato doesnt want to show that.

The director, Josef Kubota Wladyka, suggested that maybe Sato could give a wink.

But as he was about to roll the scene, I was thinking, maybenota wink?

I did the peace sign, and Josef really liked it, and that was in the final cut.

I asked the producers, Whats wrong with it?

and they said, Isnt it too much, too casual to do, after killing Tozawa?

If you did something special and you came out bragging, Well, I didsomuch, thats not cool.

Thats what the peace sign meant.

The Japanese producers said, Okay, we understand, but we dontreallyunderstand.

But that scene stayed in the final cut.

We rehearsed so many times.

No one wanted to screw up the scene by moving.

Sugata-san said out of the blue, Dont you think its weird, in a good way?

Maybe he had a hunch that somethings gonna happen to him.

Holding hands, for a big yakuza guy, is usually not going to happen.

I really like Sugata-san.

He is a really, really sweet guy.

Were still in contact today, texting each other.

What did Sugata-san say to you?It was like Japanese poetry, this whole scene.

But there was a mutual understanding and feeling between Ishida and Sato about Hayama.

One thing he whispered to Sato was, Kill Hayama.

Then its going to be okay.

Sometimes its cold beef and you have toreallychew through it.

I dont want to do that.

I really eat when Sato eats, even though there are lines, lines, lines.

But if I can request for the future: hey give me something soft!

The series includes music from both major 90s American boy bands, N Sync and the Backstreet Boys.

WhenTokyo Vicewrapped, I went to Australia to filmThe Narrow Road to the Deep North.

I went out one night to a club, and I Want It That Way started playing.

But theres one song that I really like from the Backstreet Boys.

[Hums melody.]

As Long As You Love Me!Yes!

When we had theTokyo Vicewrap party, we went to karaoke, and I Want It That Way started.

I was wondering,Whos gonna sing this song?,and someone brought me two mics.

So I sang the song with two mics.
