Not at The Marvels You Didnt.

The Marvelswas the 33rd MCU movie to open theatrically sinceIron Manin 2008.

All 32 previous movies outgrossedThe Marvelsdomestically on their opening weekends.

That means it wont be lagging as far behind the more lucrative movies as it could be.

Now, could the money that you used onThe Marvelshave been better spent?

I dont need to answer that question but will.

That last one has earned 272 points, a figure that will be very difficult forThe Marvelsto reach.

But dont beat yourself up too badly for draftingThe Marvels.

IsThe Color Purplegoing to pack theaters and rack up awards nominations, or will it completely fizzle?

Will audiences or awards voters respond to Joaquin Phoenixs unaccented Napoleon?

Sofia CoppolasPriscillaadded a thousand more screens and has now made $12 million in two weeks.

The weekends big expansion wasThe Holdovers, which added 714 screens and nearly cracked the top five.

(If onlyPAW Patrolhad thought to contract Diane Warren for an empowerment ballad for Skye.)

Those points will add up fast once awards-precursor season begins.

Thats the real win.

TeamJLWhas roared into second place on account of those sweetMarvelspoints (a positiveMarvelsheadline!)

combined with a solid base ofThe Eras Tour,Five Nights at Freddys,andKillers of the Flower Moon.
