In fact, everyone in1923is dying all of the time.

This does not look like healing.

Except maybe Teonna, who is charging at life with whatever spirit shes managed to hold onto.

But this week, on Ghost of Zebrina, Taylor Sheridan finally closes the thematic loop.

Theyre both on journeys of homecoming, though Spencers is a duty-bound return and Teonnas a desperate escape.

So lets talk about Teonnas plight first.

After killing Sister Mary and surprise!

Back in East Africa, Spencer has made comparatively little progress in the direction of Yellowstone.

Spencer makes the right choice, praise be.

Shes the only central character who speaks beyond the demands of politeness and necessity.

Alex is the only vital branch on this decaying family tree.

These landlubbers dont know shit about boats.

The episode ends in a collision with a massive abandoned ghost ship that capsizes the tugboat.

Poor Cara Dutton, who has plenty of allies in Bozemans other cattle-ranching families, but no soldiers.

After Johns death, Emma, who for decades was her most reliable companion, wastes away.

Caras forced to sell the cattle to pay the mortgage on the ranch.

Jacob is still mostly bedridden after the shoot-out with Banners men, though hes slowly improving.

Though there is hope.

I pray that the whole long line of them continues to wear those fun wool chaps.

Caras allies have suffered, yes, but her enemies have grown powerful.

Whitfield upgrades Banners log-and-sod cabin to a stately home with running water, gas, and electricity.

Even the word surrounding would be anathema to Sheridans heroes.

The world doesnt surround you.

That is until Alex corrects Spencers mistaken belief that theres no way to reach Montana from Mombasa.
